Samuel the Rogue: Rogues Roost
Cult in the catacombs? Handled. Mostly. Cult worshipping the book on my back? Nobody warned me about that part. Guild order to get the book out of the city in fourteen days? Apparently that's my problem now. Samuel, 19, cocky, horny, and very sure he doesn't want a house, is about to find out why the cheapest property outside Ashbourne is so cheap. The Guild Master wants the Tome outside the walls. Lily wants a garden. Kaniz wants a dungeon. The Tome wants a tower. And the gnome land agent has listings with "original fixtures," "seasonal visitors," and a water feature that turns out to be a bottomless pit. I didn't want any of it. I said so. Loudly. Through a floor. Then I signed for a haunted inn on the river with fourteen rooms, four cells, three quarters of a tower, and two dead innkeepers who came with the deed. They steal trousers. They're very loud at night. And according to the paperwork, they're mine. The cult hears the book in their sleep. They know where it lives now. Rogues aren't supposed to own anything. Nobody told my house.
